The Introduction of the SiC Group

Now the SiC device is superior to the Si device with switching frequency, heat resistance and so on, the traction drive system and the auxiliary power supply system using SiC devices have smaller volume, higher efficiency, better modulation that can be used for further development, so it will be very good to promote the field of rail transportation. Then we set up our SiC group, which has three members now, and they have their own research directions based on SiC devices, such as the SiC device characteristic modeling, the research of SiC drivers and the system optimization based on SiC and so on. Recently, we developed a 40kW full SiC auxiliary converter for trams based on SiC MOSFETs from Cree. And this auxiliary converter has the efficiency of 93%. And now we still believe that this system is able to have a higher efficiency. We could carry on our researches control strategy of PSFB circuit to improve efficiency and improve operating conditions, loss model, efficiency improvement scheme and the SiC driver board with strong anti-interference, good and stable performance by this platform.
